Who we are

What we collect

Only what you type into our contact form: your name, email address, the reason you're getting in touch, and your message. That's it. We don't ask for your address, your service record, your date of birth or anything sensitive — please don't send us any of that through the website.

If you tick the box asking us to keep you posted, we also add your name and email to our mailing list. If you don't tick it, we don't.

Why we use it

• To reply to you. That's the main one.
• To tell you about outings, the gala and foundation news — only if you asked us to.
• To keep a record of who offered to help, so we don't lose track of people.

What we never do

We do not sell your information. We do not rent, trade or share it with anyone for their marketing. We do not send your details to other veteran organizations — if we think one of them can help you, we'll point you to them and let you make the call.

Who else touches it

To run a website and send email we rely on a few service providers, who process your data on our behalf and are not allowed to use it for their own purposes:

• Cloudflare — hosts this site and delivers it to your browser.
• Our email provider — delivers your message to us and, if you opted in, sends you our updates.
• Google Fonts — serves the typefaces this site uses.

Cookies

This website sets no advertising or tracking cookies. There is nothing here following you around the internet.

How long we keep it

We keep your message for as long as we're still in a conversation with you and for a reasonable period afterwards as a record. Mailing-list details are kept until you unsubscribe. Ask us to delete you and we will.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe — every email we send has a one-click link. It always works.
• See it, correct it, or delete it — email info@lockleedoutdoorfoundation.org and we'll sort it. No forms, no runaround.

Children

This site isn't directed at children and we don't knowingly collect their information. Kids are very welcome on the ice — just have a parent do the emailing.

Links out

We link to other organizations — the DNR, the VA, county veterans service offices, other nonprofits — because they're useful. We don't control those sites and this policy doesn't cover them.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. If we ever change it in a way that materially affects you, we'll say so plainly rather than quietly editing the page.
